The stampede occurred after rapper Meek Mill’s performance at the festival.

NOLA.com reports that either a fight or false reports of gunfire caused the panic.

A mirroring incident happened last October in Atlanta where a Lil Wayne concert ended with at least a dozen people receiving minor injuries after people fled after someone in the crowd reportedly yelled that gunshots had been fired.

Makes you wonder why would someone want to create chaos at such a star-studded fun event.??? Im in Chicago and knowing Lil Wayne had a ferris wheel and who knows what else on the lakefront brought back so many childhood memories of Jazzland. I’m happy to hear that there were no major injuries or violence and I hope everyone had enjoyed themselves. Some people just need to cut it…Messing up the party…Party poopers!!!

During a sit down with New Orleans radio station Q93, Lil Wayne confirmed that his upcoming album, Funeral, is on the way. Originally, Weezy was asked by radio host Wild Wayne on whether or not fans could expect a follow-up to Tha Carter V. “I’m not sure,” Wayne said. “I wouldn’t count it out but the Funeral is my next album. I’ma be dropping that by the end of the year.”
