I had a fabulous time at one of New Orleans’s hidden luxurious bars, Bar Marilou. It’s hidden so well in plain view that I walked past the exotic trellis courtyard entrance. Once I went past the gate, the seductive neon red sign that spelled out Bar Marilou seemed to pull me in. It’s something how lightening and greenery can be spellbinding. The hostess opened the door to this mysteriously sensual, artsy, thought-provoking space. The walls were lined with a wide variety of books and artwork, and one part of the wall opens up to a VIP area.
Staff, signature sips and delicious bites were a delight to my stomach and soul! The Bar Marilou makes for the perfect date night or girls night, but defiently recommend that you at least take a peek in. Take in mind plates are small and it’s on the pricy side, a drink averages $15, but I recommend going in for Happy Hour to save a few dollars.
