Experience the Magic of NOLA ChristmasFest 2024
Yesterday, my girls and I had the absolute best time at the NOLA ChristmasFest at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. This year’s festival is already a standout event of the holiday season. Whether you’re planning a family outing, a romantic date, or a fun day with friends, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this festive wonderland.

Skating with Santa:
We realized we should have waited until Sunday so the girls could have experienced skating with Santa. Though they’re getting older and may not be as excited, they still would have loved the festive breakfast and a chance to meet Kris Kringle on the ice. This year’s Skating with Santa event will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. and includes decorated donuts, festive fruit, a hot cocoa bar, coffee, and more. Tickets for this event also provide entry to the morning session from 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., offering six hours of holiday fun.
Budget Breakdown:
For a family of four, here’s an idea of what you might spend:
- Tickets: $100 ($25 per person for weekday general admission)
- Food and Drinks: Around $60-$80 (for meals and treats)
- Extras: Skating lessons or souvenirs could add $20-$30
In total, plan for about $180-$210 for a memorable family outing. Don’t forget to bring a Coca-Cola product for the $5 discount per ticket—a long-standing tradition and an easy way to save on admission.
Getting There and Parking:
A rideshare made the trip stress-free, dropping us off right in front of Hall I. For those driving, parking is available in Lot F across from the entrance, but spaces fill up quickly. Construction on Convention Center Blvd. may add to the challenge, so plan accordingly and consider arriving early.
Insider Tips:
- Dress Comfortably: With activities like ice skating and ice slides, layering is key—but festive touches like reindeer antlers or a sequined scarf are always a hit!
- Arrive Early: Beat the crowds and enjoy shorter lines for the most popular attractions.
- Plan for Photos: The Gingerbread Village and tree displays are perfect for capturing holiday memories.
- Bring Snacks: While food vendors offer great options, packing a small snack pack can help keep little ones happy during your visit.
Final Thoughts:
The NOLA ChristmasFest truly captures the heart of the holiday season. It’s a celebration of joy, love, and community—like a warm holiday gumbo that’s rich with flavor and tradition. Whether you’re skating for the first time, taking in the festive sights, or simply spending quality time with loved ones, this event has it all. With so much to offer, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
